In another campaign associated with a GM vehicle, NHTSA indicated the automaker is asking 674 owners of the Cadillac CTS from the 2012 model year to bring the vehicle to a franchised dealer.

Notification began earlier this month about the vehicles manufactured between Oct. 26. 21 and Oct. Federal officials said the units maybe have a condition in which the power vacuum brake boost pushrod retention nut may not be torque to the proper specification.

If the nut is not torqued to the proper specification, NHTSA thinks the nut could loosen and allow the pushrod to separate from the brake pedal, potentially resulting in a loss of ability to brake the vehicle and increase the risk of a crash.

Franchised dealers have been told to inspect this nut and if necessary, torque the nut to the proper specification.

NHTSA noted that potentially effected owners also can reach Cadillac at (800) 458-8006.

Nissan and Infiniti Recall

The last of the three recent recalls involves the 2011 Nissan 370Z and the Infiniti G37 Coupe from the 2011 and 2012 model years.

NHTSA explained that a total of 1,788 units manufactured between July 2 and Aug. 29 have a programming error that results in the power window switch controller being made out of specification.

The American was neither a homeowner, a tradesman nor a tourist. Air Force sergeant wasn't interested in a room. The visitor in the stolen van was none other than Richard Lee McNair, an escaped killer who had busted out of a federal prison in Pollock, Louisiana, six months earlier -- his third unauthorized furlough from jails and prisons in the U.S.

The escapee, who would be featured a dozen times on the Fox TV show, America's Most Wanted, was not only a break-out artist, but a break-in artist as well.

During his 18-months on the lam, Mr. Snyder was focused on carpets. McNair broke into numerous car dealerships across Canada and the northern United States, stealing new vehicles, cracking open petty cash boxes and peeling safes.
