It’s time to set your DVRs for the holidays – that is, if you want to catch all the Christmas cheer the TV is throwing your way.
With Thanksgiving out of the way, the Christmas-special season is in full swing, with the usual suspects popping up on various TV stations.
If you’re aiming to watch as many of these classics – from the Grinch to Charlie Brown’s wimpy but hopeful tree – as you can, keep this guide handy as it highlights the season’s holiday TV offerings through Christmas Eve.
Tonight:
“Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (7, ABC): Dr. Seuss’ classic children’s book narrated by Boris Karloff.
“Shrek the Halls” (7:30, ABC): Everyone tries to cheer up a grumpy Shrek at the holiday.
Tuesday:
“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” (7 p.m., CBS, Channel 3): Burl Ives narrates the story of the oddball reindeer.
Wednesday:
“Christmas in Rockefeller Center” (7 p.m., NBC): Features Michael Buble, Tony Bennett, Justin Bieber, Cee Lo Green, Faith Hill, Carole King, Katharine McPhee, Javier Colon and The Radio City Rockettes.
That's the word Adam Less, co-chair of West Kelowna’s Kraft Hockeyville campaign used to describe his reaction to a donation received late last week from local auto dealership, Orchard Ford.
"It was about three in the afternoon last Wednesday when I got a phone call from Dan Assam, owner of Orchard Ford. I was so thrilled, I was literally speechless. Dan said everybody at the dealership wanted to help us and offered us a significant cash donation. I told him a major focus of ours was not only to win Kraft Hockeyville, but also to drive support for our local charities including The Food Bank," says Less.
I explained that we already have two major charitable events planned to raise support for The Food Bank, including this upcoming weekend’s Kraft Hockeyville Winterfest event and a hot tub giveaway, entry for which is in return for Food Bank donations. Dan must have thought I hung up on him,." says Less.
According to Less, even though the dealership is in Kelowna, Orchard Ford consider themselves part of the West Kelowna community because so many of the management team, including Assam himself, are West Kelowna residents and are actively involved as parents and coaches in Westside Minor Hockey.
“Dan asked me how we would be helping the local West Kelowna community throughout our campaign. That’s when Dan said he and the team at Orchard Ford would do all they could to help us.
